today despite all odds I got about 1k down for quantum entanglement. I’m about halfway through the chapter and picking up speed, thank heavens, so hopefully that will be coming out soonish.

i’m not around much
i hurt my back (i’m ‘old’, comparatively, to the majority of the users of this platform), so sitting at the desk doing weeby stuff is ultra painful right now

the most noticeable consequence of this would be the resbang forum not being updated as releases are coming out so, for that, i apologize and ask that you have patience for my old ass
but yeah essentially life right now is flopping around in bed or on the floor being unable to do things so. shrug emoji

People’s dogs are getting horribly sick and dying after having eaten Beneful foods.
Symptoms include lethargy, vomiting, bloody stools and diarrhea, skin irritation/allergy, and some dogs have experienced seizures in various degrees of severity.
Beneful has not issued a recall on any of its foods despite owners calling to complain about the state of their dogs.
Please spread the word so that more dogs don’t have to suffer!
If I were you, I’d stay away from Purina products altogether, this is a very bad sign.
Fucking great. This is what I’ve been feeding my dogs because I really can’t afford the super nice expensive foods. If I could I’d feed them that though… Anyone know of any affordable but good foods for dogs?
I know more about good cat foods at this point than I do dog foods. Followers wanna weigh in? And remember – AFFORDABLE but good. Emphasis on affordable here, if you catch my drift.
seconding the 4health brand i saw mentioned in reblogs. it’s not AS good as blue, but it’s pretty decent in my limited experience, and they carry grain-free lines for dogs and cats. 35lb bag of dog food for roughly 35 bucks, which is probably a couple bucks more than beneful, but it’s certainly not the 50 bucks for blue buffalo, and it’s ingredient list is v decent. it’s a Tractor Supply store brand though, so availability may be an issue if price isn’t. but man, purina products and all those common brands are just… if you can find it at walmart it’s probably not a great option. so if you ever have the means to get something better for your pet, i urge you to get after it.

there were many other things that happened but my coffee is ready and i have a house to clean and a fic to write. back to regularly scheduled programming.
today was a shit day emotionally for the most part, but not long after I had said i couldn’t wait to go to bed to let the day end, I got a phone call from my friend who told me my ring design i made awhile back was yet again mistaken as the work of a professional (they asked where I was employed) and quoted her a price she can afford this time (the first jeweler wanted more than twice as much). then, hanging out with fandom friends in minecraft was a nice relief. aaannnd @kittenintheden left me a GREAT review on mononoke au which I had been feeling dispirited over as of late, so that was a great surprise. thank you! and thanks to @adorabbey and @sojustifiable for being around to literally watch flowers grow and letting me end the night on a joyful note.

I have felt urged to make a fresh post about How To Source, because when I go trawling through the tags to promote cool art and already have to wade through the violent pornography I frequently find a great piece either not sourced or, perhaps worse, sourced from We Heart It. I dunno, they’re both p bad.
I am also an artist. I have seen my work reposted without credit to me. I have also been the noob who has reblogged art without credit. I know this game, so harken to mine harrowing plea: please source your shiz properly or don’t post it at all.
Maybe you don’t know art sourcing etiquette. That’s ok. We aren’t condemning you, we just want you to get up to speed, pronto, before you inadvertently run an artist off the internet. (RIP katsura miya)

Buddy, Jcry’s Resbang is NOT in favor of those things, which you might have been able to surmise if you considered the theme of the story – a study in corrupted versions of the characters – for literally one half of one second. It’s just a content warning for things that villains do. It’s stuff that isn’t even used as an irresponsible plot device. The warning is there so people who are disturbed or triggered by even the implication of a villain doing it can avoid it. Warnings are not for attracting people.
this will probably get me in trouble later but man i am feeling well done and overcooked and i’m a medium rare kind of gal so let me just say, from one jerk to another, in a very well-meaning but still ultimately disappointed manner:
come on, man, why take the time to send such a negative ask instead of asking an actual question? we’re all mostly rational adults who can engage in mature conversation.
consider asking ‘does this story make you uncomfortable?’ or ‘do you think this story would make other people uncomfortable?’ or ‘i really tend to enjoy the things you promote, so i’m wondering how you feel about the dubcon mention in this story, can you tell me more about it?’
you’ve jumped the gun and made a premature judgment on a story. it happens. we do it. covers < books and we fall for it a lot. but even if you are genuinely uninterested in a story, why the public condemnation? you look like a jerk, man. i love this pocket of the internet so i want us jerks to, you know, improve as people or something. peace love and fandom.
