Childhood friends torn apart by distance, Maka is suddenly reunited with her first crush in the Albarn family’s pet shop. She needs an employee, and Black Star needs a job… but also a place to stay. A new tenant in the house, exotic bird theft, and big-name petfood companies turn the shop upside down, but now that she has her best friend back, Maka thinks she can get through anything– if her heart would simply shut up. Also if Fred would shut up. Please shut up, Fred.

This is stupid buuuttttt I’ve been reading your docs since forever ago and I keep hearing….what is Resbang?

resbang is the short name for Soul Eater Resonance Bang, which is the fandom’s big bang event. tl;dr fic authors sign up to write a fic, artists sign up to make fanart of those fics, and betas sign up to help critique/edit what the authors and artists make. everyone has a deadline. it’s a yearly thing.

There’s one last summer before the employees of Macabre Records scatter to the four winds and everything’s going sideways. Their beloved record store has a dark cloud hanging over it called Gorgon Sisters Music – the owners aren’t just poaching their customers, they’re also pressuring Kid to sell his dad’s shop. The morning starts out badly when Black Star gambles away a desperately-needed chunk of the store’s cash, and things go downhill from there. But it’s Ragnorak Day, and the crew knows if they don’t make it the best damn day possible, they’ll regret it forever.

LISTEN UP Y’ALL, this fic is both hilarious and cute and still touches on some serious business. It is definitely worth your time, though I shouldn’t have to be tellin you this because we all know kitden is a solid author. 

As for the mix, I’ve been listening to it almost every day since I made it in, what, November? It’s bouncy, it’s got mouthy guitars, lots of sing-a-longs, and stuff from the 90′s clear through to new Indie shit you may not have heard of. It’s a drive with the windows down kinda mix.

Pell Grant Matrimony

Mama wants an update of Maka’s life, but there’s a severe lack of anything interesting to report. She’s stuck in an eternal rut, and the only excitement in her life is her steadily disappearing underwear.

Thankfully, her cute neighbor gets her in touch with the panty-stealing culprit. Soul is sometimes evasive and secretive, though he makes up for it by showing her what it’s like to have fun on a regular basis. Just as Maka thinks she has exciting news to report to Mama, Soul turns out to be hiding more than exotic pets in the bathroom. The fake-married, secret dating AU you didn’t ask for.
