this year isn’t/wasn’t one i would call a happy fun time, and i didn’t get to write even a fraction as much as i had not only *intended*, but even just the barebone minimum i think i need just to feel like a person

upside, i did more digital arting than usual, so that’s something. have some gratuitous thumbnails.

1) the one fic i updated

i updated QE once. it has a lot of feelings. i wrote a few other things but my levels of investment pale in comparison to QE

2) this little angel soul doodle

which isn’t a masterpiece in any shape or form but it spawned a LOT of worldbuilding and madi knows the big hell tableflip of my heart

3) this present for eis

i’m not happy with soul and maka at all but you know what? this path.
i love this path a lot, forget the rest, i like the dirt. i missed painting things that aren’t, like, people

4) i had a nightmare (again)

it’s probably common knowledge; i have bad dreams on a regular basis, but sometimes they give good creative fodder. also it was nice to do something abstract again 

5) the bat witch

i had tried making the bat witch from Ask No Questions on 4 separate occasions – i wanted her to be human enough to know what she’s thinking but not human enough to give you a sense of the inevitable– but that’s really hard to do when you hobble yourself with references because you think you’re worthless and have no inherent vision. at wit’s end, i said fuck off to references and just made some strokes in grey and said that’s it, you don’t get anything else, put on your big fungus pants and get to work. is this totally polished? no. do i totally polish anything? no, and i keep forgetting and i need to stop beating myself up over it because it’s only the overall impression that matters, the foundation, the frame. fuck you reference folder, i use u, i don’t rely on u

Hiiiii, I’m alive, kinda. @marshofsleep‘s update to Quantum Entanglement made me squeak in joy and surprise and mostly out of frustration because I’ve read the E-Mail notification when I was still laying in bed and actually was 10 minutes late to get ready for work AND I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL AFTER WORK TO READ IT but wow the waiting was worth it and. thank you for the update marsh. ♥

What scene did you first put down?

the scene where maka is in justin boot and is looking up at the snakeskin boots because she’s so short.

What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

“Folks talk all their life, don’t make them good at it.”

Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

AHahah um. yes. hell, just people I see in town all the time helped inspire Lodestar. tina thompson in particular is a conglomerate of many women i’ve known in my life.

What do you like best about this fic? 

HANDS DOWN, the reviews i get from other country people. when they read it and tell me that it makes them homesick, or it reminds them of growing up in rural nature– that kind of thing just makes me so happy. that i’ve conveyed where i love enough for them to be able to see it themselves BLOWS MY MIND

Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

gosh i don’t know. considering the story isn’t finished yet, we’ll leave that up in the air, haha. i guess for the time being, maybe how obnoxious horses are

Um. Aahahah. Hey…? I’m alive still and still do art, nothing finished but rough sketches, which is something, right? ;x; 

I’m so sorry for being so absent on my blog with art, I have no explaination for that, just that life keeps me busy and that I have lots of ideas and no patient lately to finish a sketch ;n; I will work on all these things and want to finish them, I hope I can do this soon. ;n; 

Okay, I hope everything is in the right order…

The first two drawings are for @marshofsleep‘s last years Resbang story Swallowing the Brimstone which is pretty topnotch!! I’ve read it just recently and wow it has blown me away! I was thinking to read some Princess Mononoke story but nope, Marsh added and twisted things so much that she made her own thing out of this story and it turned out absolutely stunning! *__* ♥

The third is inspired by Meghan Trainors song “No”. (and i hope to finish this one sometime in this year maybe orz)

Fourth is casual Maka because she will be forever and 5ever be my sweetpie. ♥

The next is Lodestar becAUSE LODESTAR! I’m dying for this scene to happen, maybe it doesnt even happen like that, but the moment I await as much as a kiss is probably the awkwardpleasepleaseplease linedance with Maka and Soul. :DD

The comic and the last two drawings are to adulterclavis (which i cant properly tag sldkfgjdf) fanfiction “Bad Romance”! 😀 Gosh I recommend reading this one soooo much! It’s a lot of fun and hilarious, gosh I was laughing constantly while reading the story, it’s so refreshing and I can’t get over how well Bones writes Maka as the badass sweetheart who has a soft spot for stupid nerds like Soul. 😀 ♥ 

I hope my next upload won’t need that long… ;o; (it’s Inktober soon and I would love to paticipate and Resbang is soon too, I’m soooo excited!!) 

i mean, i’ve been yelling at eis this whole time with my feelings but here we are still

AAAAAAAAAAA god these are all so great and it’s ABOUT DANG TIME BAD ROMANCE GOT SOME FANART that is still one of my top faves and it needs every ounce of love it can get
